Brittany Sostar is an emerging, Hamilton based artist. Their works aim to explore identity, relationships, and perceptions. In reconfiguring the familiar and society’s deemed ‘norms,’ Brittany draws attention to areas for disruption that can be made within repetitive, or habitual behaviours and modes of thinking. Most recently these areas of focus are being applied to a new body of works and research projects focusing on gender, queerness, and family. Brittany holds a Diploma in Visual and Creative Arts from Sheridan College (2014) and a BFA from McMaster University (2016). Brittany is currently the Preparatorial Practicum at the Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity.
